Understanding Traditional Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT)
Prostate cancer cells often depend on androgens, primarily testosterone and its more active form, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), to grow and survive. Hormone therapy works by lowering the body's production of these hormones or by preventing them from stimulating cancer cells.
